Keynote: Creating Magic for Students is Just a Dream Away
Every student has talents, passions, and curiosities that are often waiting to be shared, but how do we tap into those for epic engagement?  Through the elevation of student voice and choice partnered with a bit of dreaming.  In this keynote, Dyane will share how inventing, innovating, seeking global connections, and making a creating mess can influence learning and our hearts. We'll tackle the essential question, "What do we want students to remember when they are 40, not just for the test on Friday?"

Co-Regulation
Limited Capacity seats available

Today’s classroom is a challenging place to be.  Many students in today’s schools come from backgrounds filled with trauma and do not comply with adult direction as students typically did in the past.   How adults respond to student behavior dramatically impacts the behavior of students with whom they work.  Those who attend this session will observe and gain an understanding of how individuals' nervous systems become intertwined as they interact with each other.  This is the relationship between self-regulation and co-regulation, providing the rationale for us to monitor and attune our own physiology, emotions, and thoughts toward well-being and growth so that we are able to promote this well-being and growth in our students.

Help Even the Playing Field for Students Using Accessibility Features on the Chromebook

Research shows that as many as 1 in 4 students have a language-based learning disability. This doesn’t just affect ELA. Dyslexics are often gifted in math and engineering, but reading holds them back in those subjects as well. Go Gaming with GIMKIT
Limited Capacity seats available

Do you have that one student that you cannot get off the game they are playing? Have you ever wished your students cared as much about learning as they do about video games? Gimkit is the platform you have been longing for. Only a high school student could have come up with such a cool idea.
Gimkit is like Kahoot or Quizlet but with gaming elements. Earn money with correct answers; use it to buy upgrades and insurance; block opponents. Students love it--and it works. Data shows a higher retention rate. Teachers can use it as a formative assessment tool or in-class practice. You can even assign homework.
Sign up for the Go Gaming with GIMKIT session and join all of us that are going GAGA for GIMKIT!!

Offer Self-Paced Lessons that Hold Students Accountable (with minimal grading) Using premium Versions of Peardeck and Playposit
Limited Capacity seats available

How can I offer self-paced lessons that hold students accountable? In this session, we'll play with two premium services: Peardeck and Playposit.

The premium version of Peardeck allows you to see student responses all in one place in real-time: instant feedback for students and instant grading for you. This keeps students accountable and allows you to stimulate class discussion.

Premium Playposit allows you to embed interactions (multiple-choice, short answer, etc.) at any point in videos--produced by you or pulled from Youtube. You can even use the work of other teachers who have already taken the time to embed interactions. Just search and copy.

Have Students Show You What They Know
Personalized Learning through student voice and choice tailors instruction, expression of learning and assessment to each individual’s unique needs and preferences. While one-on-one instruction geared toward the strengths and challenges of each student has always been an ideal, only in recent years have technological advances allowed it to materialize in education. In this session, we will explore an expansive list of ideas that allow students to demonstrate their learning while designing their own rubrics.

The Power of Visual Thinking Strategies
Limited Capacity seats available

Visual Thinking Strategies is an instructional framework for all teachers that creates an environment of student lead learning that turns traditional education on its head. Using the power of observation, students participate in facilitated discussions of art (paintings, photographs, etc) to answer three essential questions. Visual Thinking Strategies make education more engaging, inclusive and equitable. Making the choice to use this as a part of your curriculum will start a fire in giving students of all ages (PreK-college) the needed supports to develop critical thinking, visual literacy, communication and collaboration skills.

Elevate Camp Session for K-1 Teachers, Elementary Art Teachers, and Library Media Specialists
After spending all morning in inspiring, dynamic sessions you will gather at your "camp" with people who are in similar teaching positions. Each camp will have several "campfire" groups who are focused on unique challenges that are meant to encourage you to apply aspects of your experiences in the morning sessions to create, or begin creating, something that you can use in your classroom in the near future. You will be given choice in what you focus on, so be thinking of some ideas throughout the morning that you can bring to your campfire group! (Singing campfire songs is encouraged but will remain optional. However, no open flames or s'mores will be allowed.)
